...so, it continues. Madelyn Joyce was born right during the middle of Craig's finals; however, he surprisingly had his best semester ever. Our sweet little Maddie was quite the surprise back in April. I was having a horrible morning at work--feeling tired, weepy, as well as having an overall sense of ickiness. This is not me--Chelsea doesn't cry, nor does she take a sick day (Mom, remember me throwing up at school because I wanted perfect attendance?). So, I went into my boss's office, bawling--I tack this up to one of my most embarassing moments at the workplace. She took one look at me, told me I was pregnant, to grab some prenancy tests from our shelves, and to take an "emotional" day off (thank heavens for female bosses!). Uh, yeah, whatever, I was saying in my mind--how can I be pregnant? I grabbed some lunch at the local HyVee, and while I was there felt a need to relieve, so what the heck--I took one of the tests--ahhhhhhh! Yep, I'm pregnant--how did this happen...well, I know how it happened, but what the heck?! I stopped at the mall, grabbed a Willow Tree statue to tell Craig the crazy fun news and headed home. Craig had just gotten back from one of his doctor appointments. He was a bit surprised to see me, but didn't ask any questions. Just to doubly check, I took another of the pregnancy tests while Craig proceeded to tell me about his appointment. "The doctor said I might have to have some 'special' tests to make sure we can even have kids" he said. I read the results, rolled my eyes, and went and threw the test at him as well as giving him the bag with the little pregnant lady statue in it. ...and that, sweet Madelyn, is how we found out about you!
